Cleaning with Vinegar

Vinegar Cleaner

When I was young my mom would always use hot water and vinegar to clean our floors, I loved the smell but never continued the tradition as an adult.  Why haven’t I used vinegar as a cleaner?  It’s cheaper, more environmentally friendly and can replace numerous bottles in your cleaning cupboard.

Ways to use vinegar around your home.

FLOORS:

1/2 cup of white distilled vinegar to a half-gallon of warm water.

WINDOWS:

Mix equal parts white distilled vinegar and warm water.

KITCHEN:

Deodorize the kitchen drain by pouring 1 cup of distilled white vinegar down the drain, let stand for 30 minutes and then flush with cold water.

BATHROOM

Toilet bowel cleaner, pour in some white distilled vinegar and scrub with a toilet brush.

GARDEN:

Kill weeds by spraying with only white distilled vinegar.

Those are a few uses for vinegar!  I found a great resource online The Vinegar Institute it lists so many uses for vinegar that I had never heard of, like cleaning your leather shoes or getting stains out of clothes or cleaning gold jewelry!

The price is right as well!  I saw a 4 litre bottle for $2.30 that’s a lot of cleaning!

Happy cleaning!
