I really wanted a gallery wall in our living room! I decided to take the easy route, no cutting out of paper and spending hours measuring. This project was going to be frugal on time. Our time can be as valuable as money as we have to choose how we spend it wisely. On this gallery wall project I will show you an easy way to create this in less than a half hour.
First you will need your tools!
I used a stud finder, hammer, measuring tap, pencil and nails of different sizes. I think a stud finder is the best investment you can make! It really helps when hanging art of any kind and with this project really helped to outline where everything needed to be hung. I also had a ladder for hanging!
Ok first I laid out the gallery wall on the floor to visualize, as you can see the horseshoe and antlers were added after. Once on the wall it needed a bit more balance. This is the rough layout so you can visualize what will go on the wall. I started with the deer photo on the right it would be a good guide as it is in the middle of the other photos.
I really liked the idea of using items other than art to bring this gallery wall to life. Small details like this dream catcher add a different texture and fill in the spaces.
By starting with the deer photo on the left I was able to recreate what I had laid out on the floor. I hung one picture at a time and the end result did change a little but I feel this looks balanced. I could have measured and been exact but this gallery wall has items other than square pictures so I didn’t feel the need to measure exactly. Plus let’s be honest changing décor is fun! This will probably be different next year!
