The days are getting colder and the last leaves are finally falling. The days of wearing lightweight jackets is almost over, time to bring out the heavy ones. I really like lightweight jackets for holiday shopping because I don’t get so hot when running in and out of stores or going to a craft fair. The key to a great lightweight jacket for fall is making sure it has wool in it. This guarantees a great quality jacket and you will keep warm.
I found this jacket a few years ago at the thrift store and fell in love. The colour is vibrant and bright, it is made of wool and pairs nicely with a scarf. I like having a neutral wardrobe with a pop of colour. This red wool jacket is definitely a go to for fall.
This skirt is wool as well, so very warm for the fall days. You know how I love tags, this one says made in Paris, as if I needed a better reason to buy it. The skirt pairs nicely with an oversized sweater, tighter knit sweater or t-shirt. I really wanted a longer skirt for fall and I was so happy with this purchase.

Even though I have had this red wool jacket for probably 10 years, it’s still an old favorite. This year I was unsure if I liked the cut as much, but am thinking of taking it to a tailor to shorten. I haven’t really done this in the past, but am seriously considering it with a few vintage pieces I have in my wardrobe. How to get more life out of the clothes I love? Alter them to fit the style you like. Has anyone ever done this? Have you had success? Tell me!
