Floral crowns, I don’t think they will ever go out of style! They are a beautiful accessory for any occasion. I recently attempted to make one and thought I would share it with all of you! Sometimes I try DIY’s and they don’t work, other times they are a success. I am really happy with how this floral crown turned out. It was a gift for a mama to be and she looked absolutely stunning with it on.
A floral crown made by a real florist would be much more intricate, detailed and professionally put together. I had a small budget and little time, so going to a florist was not an option. Let’s walk through the steps of how to make your own floral crown. Mine was far from perfect but once it’s on you can’t tell. Remember that when you are making your own floral crown. You are not going for perfection but trying to create something lovely to wear.
Get all your materials together. I used, floral wire, floral tape, scissors, and flowers. If you have shears those would be helpful to cut the flowers.
Create the base for your floral crown with the floral wire. I measured against my own head and left a little space as you will wrap the flowers around the wire.
ADD your greenery to the base. I had two longer pieces that worked nicely around the flower crown base. Using the green floral tape you couldn’t even see where I had taped it down.
Add you flowers! There are two ways to add the flowers. I chose to add the flowers individually but you can also create small bouquets and add them as one. Find the spot you want to place the flower and simply tape it to the wire/greenery base.
Four easy steps to create a stunning floral crown for any occasion. This DIY took about 10 minutes and only cost $10. I always have floral wire and tape on hand for projects in my craft box. They come in handy for table settings, front door wreaths and floral garlands.
By purchasing individual flowers from my local flower shop it was easy to set a budget and find a colour palette I liked. There are many flower shops that sell flower stems and greenery, make sure you know the prices before you start picking as some can be a bit more expensive.
