When I saw the side of this vintage poncho peaking out at the Salvation Army Thrift Store I thought it was a sweater. When I pulled it out and realized it was a vintage poncho, I was very excited. This is the perfect piece for winter. I can pair it with a holiday dress or black jeans for holiday brunch.

The Salvation Army Thrift Store is a great place for vintage finds. This fall I found quite a few great pieces. The vintage wool skirt, vintage plaid skirt, and vintage wool sweater. Thrift shopping can be overwhelming, but shopping vintage can be even more intimidating.

HOW TO SHOP VINTAGE
- Check the quality of the material. Sometimes vintage clothing can have stains or holes or missing buttons. If it’s an easy fix, make the investment, but if it’s altering the garment maybe leave it.
- Take a look at the tag. Investing in vintage clothing, make sure the material is good quality. You don’t necessarily want polyester.
- Don’t worry about the size. Vintage clothing does not have the same sizing we have today. If you pick up a piece and see a size 10, it is not a size 10 by today’s standards. Try it on!
