MONEY SAVING TIP – Updating Your Bills

January 18, 2016

Money Saving

Money Saving Monday!  Here is a little tip on how to save a few bucks monthly.

I am not sure if you have ever noticed that providers such as cellphone, cable or internet change their plans occasionally or add more options.  You would probably never know this unless you go online and check!

Every six months I will call and update my services, it takes less than 5 minutes and can save you money monthly plus there may be bonuses!

Here is a recent example:

CELLPHONE: I upgraded my phone this year and wasn’t happy with my plan as I was spending more than my previous phone.  I called to see if there was anything I could change. Here’s what happened:

OLD PLAN NEW PLAN SAVINGS
$125 per month $100 per month $25
4 Gigs per month 5 Gigs per month An extra Gig per month for less
$10 extra for voicemail features Included $10
No bonuses Spotify now included (which I already had a subscription to) $9.99 savings per month
TOTAL MONTHLY SAVINGS $45 PER MONTH PLUS AN EXTRA GIG OF DATA

I called to get a better rate, which I did plus the bonus of an extra gig per month and Spotify for free now.  They had simply changed their plans and the plan I had was no longer available. They were happy to update my monthly plan.  $45 dollars per month is huge savings that’s $540 per year!

This is only one example on how to save money monthly!

Remember if you are not happy with a cellphone or internet or cable plan call and see if you can get a better rate.  A lot of times if you are with a company for a long time you are considered a loyal customer and they are more than willing to make changes for you!

Now go out there and save!

Even if it’s only a few dollars a month over multiple providers it adds up! Good luck.
